A wave of sorrow has enveloped a family in Gujjarwal village, Punjab, following the shocking revelation that their daughter, Mandeep Kaur, who relocated to Canada to forge a future, was allegedly murdered. Initially believed to have died in a roadside accident weeks earlier, their grief has deepened.
Authorities in Canada have since arrested Gurjot Singh Khaira, the younger brother of Mandeep's husband, on charges of second-degree murder and indignity to human remains, moving beyond the original charge related solely to body mishandling.
Mandeep, who embarked on her Canadian journey six years ago as an international student, had recently married into a Lodhiwal family just seven months prior. Her father, Jagdev Singh Jaggie, expressed his disbelief, noting he never anticipated peril and was informed of the supposed accident only two days after it transpired.
The family learned about the escalated murder inquiry only after Jagdev returned from immersing his daughter's ashes in holy waters. Mandeep's mother, Jaswinder Kaur, is heartbroken and yearning for clarity regarding her daughter’s tragic demise. Jagdev has plans to journey back to Canada to seek justice for Mandeep.
