Effective May 15, 2026, Abu Dhabi will introduce a ban on delivery motorcycles on select high-speed roads as part of its initiative to enhance road safety and minimize traffic hazards.
The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC), a division of Abu Dhabi Mobility, has confirmed that delivery bikes will be restricted on any road with a speed limit of 120 km/h or above.
This prohibition will particularly affect Sheikh Zayed Street, notably the segment connecting Sheikh Zayed Bridge and Sheikh Zayed Tunnel.
Officials indicate that this regulation seeks to elevate traffic safety measures and provide a more secure environment for both delivery riders and other road users in the emirate.
By implementing this rule, authorities aim to safeguard delivery riders from the risks associated with high-speed traffic while simultaneously improving the flow of vehicles on frequently traveled roads.
This measure is part of Abu Dhabi's ongoing commitment to road safety and will officially take effect on May 15, 2026.
