News Media Collaboration Policy

1. Purpose

This document outlines the principles, scope, and protocols governing all news media collaborations initiated or accepted by Newsible Asia, a digital news platform with continental coverage across Asia.

The purpose of this policy is to promote responsible media partnerships that enhance the flow of verified information, support cross-border storytelling, empower regional voices, and strengthen ethical journalism across the continent.


2. Scope of Collaborations

Newsible Asia welcomes collaboration with:

  • Independent news agencies and regional publications

  • International media alliances and consortiums

  • Public service broadcasters and government-licensed news outlets

  • Digital media networks and data journalism platforms

  • University media cells and research-based journalism institutions

  • NGO and civil society media partners

  • Fact-checking organizations and open-source intelligence (OSINT) bodies


3. Objectives of Collaboration

Our collaborations aim to achieve the following:

  • Expand news reach and distribution across Asia and beyond

  • Facilitate joint editorial projects, investigative series, or thematic coverage

  • Enable multilingual content exchange and localization

  • Promote mutual syndication agreements and shared reporting standards

  • Strengthen regional fact-checking alliances and verification ecosystems

  • Co-develop capacity-building, journalist training, and media literacy programs

  • Provide a platform for underrepresented or conflict-affected regions to publish content


4. Editorial Integrity & Independence

All collaborations must respect the following non-negotiable standards:

  • Editorial IndependenceNewsible Asia retains full editorial control over co-published content

  • No Influence from External Agendas – No political, religious, or commercial bias shall be permitted

  • Source Transparency – All collaborative content must disclose origin and funding (if applicable)

  • Consent & Attribution – Partner contributions must be properly credited; reproduction without permission is prohibited


5. Types of Accepted Collaboration

a. Syndication Agreements

  • Exchange of pre-approved content such as news articles, infographics, or documentaries

  • Usage governed by licensing or attribution terms agreed in writing

b. Joint Reporting Projects

  • Co-creation of news series or special investigations with clear byline sharing

  • Data journalism, multilingual translation, or thematic global campaigns

c. Correspondent Sharing

  • Host or exchange correspondents for special coverage (e.g., elections, summits, disasters)

  • Accredited contributors must adhere to Newsible Asia’s content policy

d. Institutional Partnerships

  • With public broadcasters, intergovernmental media arms (e.g., ASEAN Secretariat, UNDP Media Units)

  • May include content collaboration, co-events, or research-based media outreach


6. Legal and Compliance Considerations

All partnerships are subject to:

  • Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) or Content Licensing Agreements

  • Adherence to data protection, intellectual property, and broadcasting laws in all jurisdictions

  • Submission to joint editorial review protocols (where applicable)

Newsible Asia reserves the right to withdraw from collaborations that violate its core policies or ethical standards.


7. Confidentiality

Collaborative discussions, documents, or unpublished content shared during partnership arrangements are considered confidential unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.


8. Application and Review Process

Organizations seeking collaboration with Newsible Asia should submit a formal proposal to info@newsibleasia.com, including:

  • Nature and scope of proposed collaboration

  • Type of content or format

  • Target audience and intended outcomes

  • Legal and editorial contacts

All proposals are subject to internal review. Approval may involve background checks, editorial alignment assessments, or trial periods for pilot projects.


9. Ongoing Media Alliances

As of 30 May 2025, Newsible Asia is pursuing or participating in collaborative arrangements with:

  • Regional news agencies in South and Southeast Asia

  • International open-data and development journalism projects

  • Global press freedom and transparency networks

  • University-led media innovation labs

  • Pan-Asia cross-cultural and diaspora reporting forums
