Thailand Launches Trusted Stamp for Safer Tourism. The government of Thailand has announced the launch of a new travel initiative called the Trusted Thailand Stamp. This project is designed to make Thailand’s tourism industry stronger, safer, and more trusted by international visitors. Beginning in October 2025 the stamp will be awarded only to businesses and operators in the tourism sector that meet strict safety, service, and quality standards.

This new step highlights Thailand’s plan to rebuild and grow its tourism industry in a modern and sustainable way. The focus is on creating a safe environment for all travellers, whether they are families, solo tourists, or groups, while also assuring international partners that Thailand is a responsible destination.

Why the Trusted Thailand Stamp is Important

Tourism is one of the biggest strengths of Thailand. Each year, millions of people from around the world travel to experience its beaches, cultural landmarks, temples, food, and warm hospitality. However, in recent years, global travellers have become more concerned about safety, transparency, and trust when choosing where to go.

The Trusted Thailand Stamp directly addresses these concerns. It will act as a mark of guarantee proving that hotels, restaurants, tour companies, transport providers, and other tourism operators have followed the highest standards in safety and service. For international travellers, seeing this stamp will mean that they can trust the operator with their journey, their money, and their well-being.

By introducing this certification, Thailand wants to build confidence among global visitors especially in key markets like China, South Korea, Japan, and Europe. These regions have a large number of travellers who value safety and quality assurance when choosing destinations.

Objectives of the Trusted Thailand Stamp

The Thai government designed this initiative with a clear set of goals in mind:

1. Build International Confidence – By showing that tourism operators in Thailand meet world-class standards, the government hopes to reassure international travellers about safety and service.

2. Attract More Tourists – With global tourism becoming more competitive, Thailand wants to strengthen its image as not only a beautiful destination but also a safe one.

3. Promote Sustainable Tourism – The stamp encourages operators to run businesses responsibly, taking care of both visitors and the environment.

4. Create a Stable Tourism Environment – By focusing on quality, security, and trust, Thailand aims to build a long-term reputation as a reliable travel destination.

What Operators Must Do to Earn the Stamp

Not every business will automatically receive the stamp. Instead, they will need to pass through a strict certification process. The criteria have been divided into several categories, each focusing on areas that affect a traveller’s experience.

1. General Safety Measures

Safety comes first. Businesses that apply for the stamp must:

Install and maintain CCTV cameras in important areas.

Have clear emergency response systems in place.

Control access to ensure security for guests.

Prepare for natural disasters or unexpected situations.

This ensures that visitors can enjoy their holidays without worrying about their personal safety.

2. Secure Financial Transactions

For international travellers, paying safely is very important. To qualify, operators must support well-known and secure payment platforms such as Alipay and WeChat Pay. This reduces risks with cash handling and gives visitors peace of mind when paying for hotels, tours, or shopping.

3. Foreign Language Communication and Visitor Care

Language can sometimes be a barrier for travellers. That is why certified operators must employ staff who can communicate in foreign languages especially in emergencies. This step ensures that tourists from different countries receive proper guidance, support, and care.

4. Safe Access and Mobility

Tourists need to travel smoothly within the country. To meet this requirement, operators must:

Provide clear signboards in multiple languages.

Ensure safe transport connections.

Make travel routes accessible for all, including families with children and elderly visitors.

This will allow tourists to move around Thailand with comfort and confidence.

How This Stamp Will Impact Tourism

The launch of the Trusted Thailand Stamp is expected to bring several benefits to the country’s tourism industry:

Increase Visitor Numbers– More travellers are likely to choose Thailand when they see that it offers safety and quality assurance.

Stronger Global Image– Thailand will stand out among Asian destinations as a country that prioritises traveller safety.

Long-Term Tourism Growth – By building trust, Thailand can attract repeat visitors and develop a loyal tourist base.

Post-Pandemic Recovery– After the challenges faced during the global pandemic, this step shows that Thailand is ready for a new era of secure travel.

Role of Stakeholders in the Project

The success of this program will depend on cooperation between several groups:

Government Agencies – Departments like the Tourist Police Bureau, Department of Land Transport, and the Department of Tourism will ensure that safety rules are followed.

Private Operators– Hotels, restaurants, shopping centres, and entertainment venues must adopt the safety and service standards to be certified.

Transport and Airlines – Tour operators, airlines, and public transport providers are also expected to align with the program.

This teamwork will help ensure that every part of a traveller’s journey – from airport arrival to hotel stay and local travel – is safe and reliable.

Digital Platform for Certification

To make the certification process easier, the Thai government will launch a dedicated online mini-site in September 2025.

For Operators – They can log in, complete a self-assessment, and apply for the certification.

For Travellers – The site will feature a directory of certified businesses, helping visitors easily find trusted hotels, restaurants, and services.

This online solution adds transparency and allows tourists to plan their trips with confidence before even arriving in Thailand.

Promotion and Marketing Campaigns

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) plans to run large-scale campaigns to spread awareness about the stamp. These include:

International Digital Campaigns – Reaching travellers through social media and travel platforms.

Multilingual Promotion – Ensuring marketing content is available in Chinese, Japanese, Korean, English, and European languages.

Influencer Partnerships – Collaborating with well-known travel influencers and key opinion leaders to promote Thailand’s safe travel image.

These promotions will highlight Thailand as a destination that values both hospitality and safety, appealing to families, solo travellers, and group tourists alike.

Long-Term Vision for Trusted Thailand

The Trusted Thailand Stamp is not just about today’s tourism; it is about shaping the industry for the future. The long-term vision includes:

Building lasting trust with visitors from all over the world.

Making Thailand known not just for its beauty but also for its responsibility and reliability.

Supporting sustainability by encouraging businesses to follow eco-friendly and socially responsible practices.

Competing with other global destinations by setting high standards in hospitality and safety.

A New Era for Tourism in Thailand

The introduction of the Trusted Thailand stamp marks the beginning of a new chapter in Thailand’s tourism story. With this initiative, the country is telling the world that it is not only ready to welcome visitors but is also committed to protecting them.

For travellers, this means enjoying the charm of Thailand – from the sandy beaches of Phuket to the cultural treasures of Chiang Mai – while feeling safe and secure at every step of the journey.

For the tourism industry, this means adapting to higher standards and working together with the government to create a world-class destination.

The Trusted Thailand Stamp is more than just a logo or a certificate. It is a symbol of Thailand’s dedication to safety, trust, and quality in tourism. By focusing on traveller protection, secure payments, better communication, and easy mobility, the country is setting a new benchmark for the tourism industry.

As the program officially rolls out in October 2025, visitors can look forward to a Thailand that is not only welcoming but also reliable and secure. With this step, Thailand strengthens its position as one of the world’s favourite destinations – a place where beauty, culture, and safety come together to create unforgettable travel experiences.
