Jaipur witnessed a major food safety crackdown after authorities seized a huge stock of expired Amul-branded products. The haul included 30,000 kg of packaged goods such as noodles, ketchup, mayonnaise, and energy drinks. Many items were past their expiry dates, and some showed evidence of tampering with chemicals in an attempt to resell them.
The total value of the seized stock is estimated at over ₹6 crore. The Food Safety & Drug Control Department acted swiftly, confiscating the products and sealing the premises to prevent further distribution.
Officials have confirmed that strict action is being taken against those responsible under food safety laws. The move highlights ongoing efforts to protect consumers from unsafe or fraudulent food practices.
Authorities urged the public to remain vigilant about checking expiry dates and report any suspicious or unsafe food items. This operation serves as a reminder of the importance of food safety regulations in ensuring public health.
The Jaipur crackdown is part of a wider push across India to prevent expired and tampered food products from reaching consumers, safeguarding both health and trust in branded goods.
