Before dawn on Sunday, a multi-storey building in Angeles City, Pampanga province, tragically collapsed, leading to the death of four people and leaving authorities searching for 17 more, as confirmed on Monday.
The local Bureau of Fire Protection reported that rescue teams managed to recover three bodies from the rubble, while an additional fatality occurred when debris struck a person in a nearby apartelle.
As of Sunday afternoon, at least 26 individuals have been saved, with 24 rescued directly from the collapsed structure and two from the adjacent apartelle.
Officials noted that ten of the survivors sustained injuries and are receiving medical care at local hospitals.
Rescue operations are actively continuing as emergency teams strive to locate those who are still missing under the debris.
An investigation has been initiated to ascertain the cause of this catastrophic building collapse.
