According to Dr. Tripti Dubey of Apollo Hospitals, Navi Mumbai, mornings play a crucial role in our overall health. What we consume after waking can significantly influence our mood, vitality, and hormonal functions throughout the day.

Hormones act as vital chemical signals in our body, governing aspects such as sleep, hunger, stress levels, menstrual cycles, weight, and energy. An imbalance in hormones may lead to fatigue, irritability, skin issues, irregular menstruation, or weight management challenges. Dr. Dubey emphasized that selecting the right morning beverage can contribute positively to hormone regulation, particularly when paired with adequate sleep, nutritious meals, and consistent physical activity.

She noted that the body engages in self-repair processes overnight. Therefore, a mild and wholesome morning drink can optimize liver function and digestion, aiding hormone balance.

Dr. Dubey recommended natural and easily prepared beverages, highlighting flaxseed-chia water as a prime example. Both flaxseeds and chia seeds are rich in fiber and plant-based nutrients that promote digestion and help maintain hormone balance. These seeds can simply be soaked overnight for a refreshing morning sip.

Additionally, she suggested warm lemon water, coconut water, herbal teas, and fenugreek seed water as beneficial alternatives. These options not only provide hydration but also deliver essential nutrients, supporting liver health — a key player in hormone regulation.

However, Dr. Dubey cautioned that these drinks alone cannot resolve hormonal issues; they represent only a part of a holistic healthy lifestyle. It’s vital to ensure sufficient sleep, minimize processed food intake, manage stress, and engage in physical activity for optimal wellness. Only then can one expect to feel revitalized throughout the day.

The takeaway is straightforward: embrace gentle mornings with natural drinks and furnish the body with the necessary support. Small, daily habits can be instrumental in maintaining robust health and hormonal balance.
