The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre (ALC) is hosting a major event that highlights the growth of Arabic creative industries and the rising role of artificial intelligence (AI) in shaping storytelling and visual content. The Congress of Arabic & Creative Industries 2025 will take place on September 14-15, 2025, at the Etihad Arena on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. The two-day event is organized under the theme “Arabic Creativity Reimagined: Innovation in Storytelling and Audience Engagement.”
Dr Ali bin Tamim, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre, emphasized that artificial intelligence has evolved to a point where it can produce stories and visual content almost like humans. This development represents a new type of collaboration between humans and machines, where AI tools assist creators in shaping narratives and imagery.
He noted that the role of audiences has shifted in this AI era. Today, audiences are not just passive consumers but actively participate in shaping the content they interact with. This change reflects a new form of hybrid discourse, blending human creativity with AI-generated innovations.
According to Dr bin Tamim, digital media is flourishing globally, and its influence will continue to grow. More than 40 percent of content creators in publishing and journalism now use AI tools to produce both visual and written material. This shows the increasing integration of technology in creative industries and highlights the potential for faster, more engaging, and interactive content.
The congress will provide a platform to discuss how AI, technology, and creativity intersect and the ways these advancements can enrich the Arabic language and culture globally.
Dr bin Tamim stressed that the congress plays a key role in strengthening the Arabic language and promoting dialogue between civilizations. The event aims to present the Arab creative scene to the world with a modern vision, while also contributing to the global creative economy.
He added that the congress seeks to enhance strategic international partnerships with major companies such as TikTok, Snap, Google, and Amazon Web Services (AWS). These partnerships can help raise standards in Arab creative industries, accelerate skill transfer, and expand the global reach of Arabic culture and content.
The congress is designed to provide young creatives with opportunities to learn from leading experts, connect with established professionals, and gain hands-on experience in the creative economy. By participating in discussions and workshops, emerging talent can showcase their skills, exchange ideas, and explore new ways to innovate in the cultural and creative sectors.
The event programme features several panel discussions and interactive sessions, covering a variety of important topics, including:
The power of personal storytelling in the age of AI – how AI tools can enhance narratives while keeping the human touch.
Authenticity, diversity, and historical context – why these elements remain critical in creative work, even as technology accelerates content production.
The role of women in reshaping creative narratives – exploring new opportunities for female creators in Arab industries.
Growth of the Arabic audiobook market – analyzing the global boom in audiobooks and the potential for Arabic content to reach new audiences.
These discussions will bring together creative experts, technology pioneers, business leaders, and cultural influencers. Attendees will gain insights into emerging trends, new technologies, and strategies for expanding Arab creative industries worldwide.
The congress will also release new reports on the Arab creative industries, highlighting their current size, growth, and projected economic impact through 2030. These reports aim to provide decision-makers, investors, and stakeholders with actionable insights, helping to identify opportunities for investment, innovation, and collaboration in the creative economy.
Dr bin Tamim emphasized that the congress is more than an industry event. It is a knowledge-sharing platform that showcases the role of the Arabic language in connecting cultures, promoting dialogue, and contributing to global creativity. By fostering international collaborations and strategic partnerships, the congress helps position Arab creative industries on the global stage while celebrating local talent and cultural heritage.
The Congress of Arabic & Creative Industries 2025 reflects the growing intersection of technology, creativity, and culture. With AI reshaping content creation, audiences becoming active participants, and international collaborations opening new opportunities, the event highlights the future of Arab creativity.
Through workshops, panels, and strategic dialogues, the congress aims to empower young talent, elevate Arab creative industries, and strengthen the global presence of the Arabic language. The two-day event in Abu Dhabi promises to be a milestone in promoting innovation, storytelling, and cultural dialogue in the 21st century.
