Tomorrow, Bahrain will mark its 54th National Day and the 26th anniversary of King Hamad bin Issa Al Khalifa’s leadership, celebrated annually on December 16. This year’s festivities highlight significant accomplishments as Bahrain progresses under the astute guidance of its King.
Bahrain and Oman share a rich historical bond, bolstered by collaborative efforts across various political, economic, social, and cultural arenas. Their relations continue to flourish under the diligent oversight of both nations’ leaders, fostering integration and mutual prosperity. Bahrain has realized significant strides in sectors such as economic development, education, energy, and sustainable logistics, showcasing its unwavering growth.
In 2025, Bahrain's economy recorded a 2.5% GDP growth. The kingdom has made substantial advances in education through initiatives like hosting the UNESCO award and establishing technology-driven educational institutions. In the realm of Information and Communications Technology (ICT), Bahrain achieved a noteworthy score of 97.5 points on the 2025 Communications and Technology Index, securing the fifth spot among Arab nations.
The commercial relationship between Bahrain and Oman is robust, with their trade exceeding USD 1.4 billion. Bahraini investments in Oman have reached approximately USD 1.25 billion, with 876 companies vested across various sectors and 1,200 investment licenses issued to Bahraini entrepreneurs. Moreover, partnerships between the two nations' business communities have hit 550, while about 700 Bahraini investors have shares in firms on the Muscat Stock Exchange.
National Day in Bahrain serves as a celebration of its achievements, a display of allegiance to its leadership, and a commitment to continuous advancement across all development sectors. Looking forward, both Bahrain and Oman aim to deepen their cooperation, spur economic growth, and enhance cultural development in the years to come.
