Jessie Inchauspe, a prominent French biochemist known as the “Glucose Goddess”, has revealed that her favorite daily supplement is mulberry leaf extract. She claims it can assist in regulating blood sugar and mitigating glucose spikes following meals.
According to Jessie, a daily dose of 250 milligrams of mulberry leaf extract for two months could yield beneficial results. This intake may lead to lower fasting blood sugar, improved HbA1c levels, and reduced fasting insulin, promoting healthier long-term blood sugar management.
She noted that mulberry leaf features a natural component called DNJ. This compound inhibits the rapid conversion of carbohydrates into sugar, resulting in slower glucose absorption into the bloodstream, thus helping to prevent abrupt spikes in blood sugar levels.
Moreover, the supplement used by Jessie contains lemon extract, which may enhance the body's secretion of GLP-1, a hormone essential for appetite regulation and blood sugar management.
However, Jessie emphasized that this supplement should complement, not substitute, a balanced diet. She considers it “extra support” for hectic days when maintaining strict meal plans is challenging.
An important warning she provided is that mulberry leaf extract is not advisable for pregnant or breastfeeding women, as insufficient research exists regarding its safety for this group.
Health experts indicate that while supplements can be beneficial, they are not cures and should be taken under a doctor's supervision. Comprehensive scientific studies are needed to fully validate these claims.
This report is derived from Jessie’s social media insights, and the assertions have not been independently substantiated by medical professionals.
