The Oman Summit for Diabetes and Endocrine Care Across the Lifespan 2025 commenced today in Muscat Governorate. This event is held under the auspices of HH Sayyida Dr. Mona Fahad Al Said, Assistant Vice-Chancellor for External Cooperation at Sultan Qaboos University. The summit gathers specialists in diabetology, obesity, and hormone-related disorders, featuring 22 international experts delivering scientific presentations and lectures over the span of two days.
Sayyida Dr. Noor Badr Al Busaidi, Chair of the Oman Diabetes Association, expressed that the summit represents a crucial scientific platform that enhances care for individuals facing diabetes, obesity, and endocrine challenges in Oman. She noted the event is a product of robust collaboration among the Oman Diabetes Association, the Ministry of Health, and the National Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology, highlighting effective collaboration between civil society and governmental health agencies.
Additionally, she mentioned that the summit is designed to enhance national expertise, promote inter-sector collaboration, and elevate the standard of medical care by gathering physicians, researchers, policymakers, and health officials in one venue. It covers a range of essential topics, including advancements in diabetes technologies, hormonal issues in both children and adults, obesity management, metabolic bone health, thyroid conditions, and adrenal and pituitary disorders. The event also presents the latest insights into precision medicine.
Furthermore, the agenda incorporates four hands-on workshops aimed at essential skills like diabetic foot care, continuous glucose monitoring, carbohydrate counting, and insulin pump therapy. These sessions are intended to refine participants’ practical skills in line with global standards. The summit features two parallel scientific tracks—adult medicine and pediatrics—to evaluate the latest clinical practices and research related to diabetes and metabolic health for all age demographics.
