His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE as well as the Ruler of Dubai, welcomed Pakistan's President Asif Ali Zardari at Za’abeel Palace in Dubai. Their discussions aimed at fortifying bilateral relations and advancing collaborative efforts in significant areas.
Accompanying them were His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Finance Minister, along with His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
During the meeting, both leaders explored avenues to boost economic, developmental, and strategic collaborations between the UAE and Pakistan. They also shared insights on regional and global matters, underscoring the need for international stability, security, and sustainable growth.
Sheikh Mohammed reiterated the UAE’s dedication to deepening its strategic partnership with Pakistan, emphasizing the long-standing historical bonds that unite both nations. In response, President Zardari acknowledged Sheikh Mohammed’s efforts in promoting bilateral relations and highlighted the necessity for ongoing cooperation in economic and developmental sectors.
The meeting was attended by prominent UAE officials, including Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and Sheikh Hasher bin Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum.
On the Pakistani side, attendees comprised First Lady Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, Bakhtawar Bhutto-Zardari, Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, Presidential Advisor Asim Hussain, Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan, and Brigadier Sajid Akbar.
Additionally, Sheikh Mohammed met with business leaders and government officials to discuss enhancing the business landscape and fostering public-private collaborations. He also interacted with top graduates from the Zayed II Military College and the Dubai Police Academy, commending their achievements and emphasizing the significance of investing in national talent for the future and security of the nation.
