At least 12 people, including several children, were killed after a firecracker store exploded during Lunar New Year celebrations in China.
The incident took place in Xiangyang, located in Hubei. The explosion triggered a large fire, burning part of the shop and causing panic in the surrounding area.
Emergency teams rushed to the scene, but multiple victims died due to severe injuries. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the blast.
The tragedy occurred just days after another fireworks-related explosion in Jiangsu, where eight people were killed earlier during the festival period.
Fireworks and firecrackers are widely used during the Spring Festival in China, but officials continue to warn that they pose serious safety risks if not handled or stored properly, especially during the holiday season.
