Turkmenistan’s rich cultural heritage and traditional arts received international praise during the 5th International Crafts Festival held in the Armenian city of Meghri on May 16 and 17, 2026. Artists and craftsmen from Turkmenistan captivated audiences with vibrant performances and beautifully crafted handmade creations.
The festival brought together cultural representatives and artisans from different countries, offering a platform to showcase traditional music, craftsmanship and folk heritage. Turkmen participants stood out with performances by bakhshi musicians and singers who presented classical Turkmen musical and vocal traditions to international visitors.
Audiences at the festival were highly impressed by the display of decorative and applied arts from Turkmenistan. Traditional handmade jewelry, textile works and artistic crafts reflected the country’s deep respect for ancestral traditions and centuries-old craftsmanship passed down through generations.
The event also highlighted the importance of preserving cultural identity through art and music. Turkmen performers delivered musical compositions that blended traditional melodies with emotional storytelling, creating a memorable cultural experience for festival visitors.
Festival guests praised the fine details and artistic quality of Turkmen handmade products. Many visitors gathered around the exhibition area to admire traditional ornaments, embroidery work and culturally inspired artisan pieces that represented the spirit of Turkmen heritage.
Officials and organizers noted that Turkmenistan continues to actively participate in international cultural events to strengthen friendship and cultural exchange with countries around the world. Such festivals provide opportunities for artists to introduce their national identity to global audiences.
The report also credited the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for supporting cultural development and promoting Turkmen traditions internationally.
