The injured workers have been identified as Ranjith Kumar, Prince Kumar, Om Kumar, Raja Babu, and Om Prakash. All five workers are also from Bihar and were working at the copper recycling facility.

According to police officials, the accident took place when a furnace used for melting copper materials exploded due to excessive heat during regular operations.

Following the explosion, company employees, along with Fire and Rescue Services personnel and police teams, reached the spot and started rescue operations.

The injured workers were immediately shifted to the government hospital in Gummidipoondi for medical care. While Ravi Ranjan could not survive his injuries, the remaining five workers are undergoing treatment.
