Al Ain, UAE: Mawaheb Talent Hub, part of the Department of Government Enablement (DGE) in Abu Dhabi, has successfully closed the inaugural edition of the Future Entrepreneurs Programme focusing on 3D Printing. This initiative was implemented in collaboration with ADGM Academy (ADGMA) and partnered with leading innovation and training institutions, including the Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development (KFED) and Sindan, aimed at equipping Emirati job seekers with essential entrepreneurial skills and hands-on manufacturing experience.
The three-week program culminated in a Demo Day held in the Al Ain Region, where the inaugural group of 50 Emirati participants showcased the prototypes and innovative solutions they crafted during their training. The concluding event featured a robust product exhibition, keynote addresses, and a ceremony to present certificates to the graduates.
Dignitaries, industry specialists, and invited guests gathered to celebrate the achievements of the participants, highlighting the significance of local innovation towards the UAE’s economic diversification efforts.
During the Demo Day, graduates unveiled fully realized prototypes, validated business ideas, and concepts ready for market. Their work illustrated the program's aim of fostering entrepreneurship and facilitating new employment and business avenues.
This initiative aligns with the UAE's national development objectives by mixing entrepreneurship education with practical training in 3D printing and digital fabrication. Participants were facilitated in actualizing innovative ideas into functional prototypes and viable business enterprises.
With an emphasis on uplifting youth and job seekers in the Al Ain region, the program also bolsters the city’s stature as a hub for innovation, industrial progress, and small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Throughout the course, participants engaged in comprehensive training that encompassed entrepreneurial mindset, business strategies, pitch preparation, and the principles of advanced manufacturing. They gained real-world experience in selecting materials, digital modeling, prototype creation, and utilizing 3D printing technologies to convert innovative ideas into tangible products.
In its commitment to nurturing a sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem, the Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development organized specialized workshops for the program's participants, held at MZN Hub Al Ain. This entrepreneurship center offers workspaces, training, mentoring, and collaborative opportunities for startups and early-stage Emiratis.
His Excellency Dr Abdulla Al Shimmari, Executive Director of the National Workforce Enablement Sector and Mawaheb Talent Hub, articulated Abu Dhabi’s dedication to unlocking local potential. He noted that as job seekers complete the program with a working prototype, a validated business concept, and newfound confidence, they are empowered to pursue both employment and entrepreneurship. He emphasized that partnerships with ADGM Academy and Sindan within the Al Ain Region facilitate world-class opportunities across the emirate, and expects graduates to play a critical role in developing Abu Dhabi’s industrial future as Mawaheb continues to support their ongoing journeys.
Ali Al Mehairi, Senior Executive Director of Business Enablement at ADGM Academy, remarked that the Future Entrepreneurs Programme in 3D Printing underscores their commitment to equipping local talent with essential skills that foster innovation and drive sustainable economic growth. He explained that combining advanced manufacturing training with entrepreneurship education is vital in nurturing a new generation of innovators and leaders who will bolster the UAE’s industrial and knowledge-driven economy, alongside enhancing Al Ain’s emerging role as a center for innovation and economic diversification.
The program plays a significant role in addressing the UAE's broader strategic goals, enhancing local manufacturing capabilities, stimulating SME development, and cultivating professionals skilled in advanced technologies and entrepreneurship. Graduates depart equipped with hands-on experience, functional prototypes, validated business ideas, and the assurance necessary to pursue employment or create businesses in key sectors.
