The UAE Jet Ski Championship’s second round is set for 15th and 16th November at the picturesque Abu Dhabi Corniche. This thrilling event promises an exhilarating weekend filled with fast-paced races and international competition. Organized by the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club and supervised by the UAE Marine Sports Federation, this championship is part of the national marine sports calendar for 2025.
This much-awaited annual championship draws both professional and amateur riders from across the globe, solidifying its status as a premier water sports event in the UAE.
Featured in the competition are elite jet ski riders from the UAE as well as international competitors from various Gulf, European, and Asian nations. The event highlights the UAE’s burgeoning reputation in water sports and aptitude for hosting high-caliber competitions.
Anticipation is high for a large crowd along the scenic waterfront of the Corniche, where spectators can enjoy thrilling races and impressive freestyle performances throughout the weekend.
This year’s event includes a range of racing categories, allowing both experienced racers and upcoming talents to showcase their skills. The categories comprise:
Stand-Up Professional (GP1)
Stand-Up Junior (GP2)
Sit-Down Professional (GP2)
Sit-Down Novice (GP3)
Sit-Down Spark (GP4)
Freestyle Show (Freestyle category)
Junior categories (3.1, 3.2, and 3.3)
Each race aims to challenge riders in speed, control, and endurance, providing an exciting spectacle of athletic prowess and skill.
Kicking off on Friday, 15th November, the event will start with participant registration and technical inspections to validate the safety and performance standards of the jet skis. Participants will then attend a briefing to familiarize themselves with race routes, regulations, and safety protocols.
Intense qualifying rounds for all categories will take place on Saturday morning, followed by the second stage of racing on Sunday, determining the final outcomes. The championship will culminate in an official awards ceremony where top performers will be honored in front of spectators, media, and sports officials.
Thani Al Qemzi, the Executive Director of Team Abu Dhabi and Modern Marine Sports, has stated that the UAE Jet Ski Championship plays a pivotal role in the nation’s marine sports calendar. He reiterated the event’s contribution to promoting marine sports culture, enhancing technical standards, and fostering Emirati talent on the international stage.
Al Qemzi emphasized that the championship underscores Abu Dhabi’s commitment to organizing world-class sporting events, while offering a platform for young athletes to build experience and confidence. He commended the continuous efforts of the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club in advancing the sport through training, facilities, and international partnerships.
