In collaboration with the World Bank, the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) has initiated a global workshop titled “Towards the Future: AI Governance and International Cooperation.” Held in Washington, D.C., from April 6 to 10, this event gathers experts, international entities, and governmental representatives from around the world.
The primary aim of the workshop is to bolster global standards for AI governance. It focuses on promoting best practices, encouraging responsible innovative technology usage, and fostering a secure digital ecosystem that supports sustainable developmental objectives.
Key topics of discussion include enhancing multi-national cooperation, syncing international frameworks with national regulations, and tackling future challenges posed by the rapid evolution of AI technologies.
Concurrent with the workshop, SDAIA is also hosting a special “Saudi Day” event alongside the Digital Government Authority and the World Bank. This initiative emphasizes Saudi Arabia’s national strategy for embracing advanced AI technologies and showcases exemplary data and AI applications across diverse sectors.
The event spotlights the Kingdom’s advancements in digital infrastructure and how these initiatives are aimed at boosting governmental efficiency while enhancing the quality of life for its citizens.
This workshop serves to strengthen the strategic alliance between SDAIA and the World Bank, underscoring Saudi Arabia's increasing influence in the global AI discourse. It further highlights the Kingdom’s dedication to fostering innovation and leadership in technology, aligned with the Saudi Vision 2030 initiative.
