In a significant move towards sustainable industrial practices, the Ajman Chamber held a forum entitled “Sustainability in the Industrial Sector” which marked the unveiling of the Eco Smart Industry initiative's first phase. The forum aimed to discuss resource conservation and recycling, emphasizing the importance of supporting sustainable growth within the industrial sector.
Key attendees included Mohammed Ali Al Janahi, Executive Director of the Member Support Services Sector, Sheikh Hamad bin Nasser Al Nuaimi, Director of Member Affairs, Abdullah Abdul Mohsen Al Nuaimi, Director of Government Communication, and representatives from over 20 local factories.
Mariam Al Nuaimi, the Initiative Manager and Head of Marketing and Corporate Communication at the Ajman Chamber, detailed the participation framework for factories. She explained the registration steps for the initiative's initial phase, set criteria for environmental readiness evaluations, and introduced tools aimed at tracking sustainability performance and resource utilization.
The initiative aspires to forge a collaborative platform where industrial facilities can share strategies, showcase successful practices, and innovate sustainable solutions collectively, thereby fostering a culture of efficiency and ongoing enhancement.
The forum also kickstarted the factory registration process for the first phase, underscoring the rising enthusiasm among industry stakeholders towards embracing eco-friendly production techniques.
Throughout the forum, participants exchanged case studies highlighting methods to boost energy efficiency, effectively manage resources, and curb emissions. These insights reinforced the notion that sustainability can drive operational success and cost reduction.
