Akshay Kumar Celebrates Niece Simar Bhatia's Cinematic Debut

Post by : Meena Ariff

Renowned Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar recently expressed his joy and pride on social media as his niece, Simar Bhatia, makes her film debut in Ikkis. In a touching post, Akshay spoke about her evolution from a shy young girl to a poised actress ready to embrace the spotlight.

Alongside Simar’s debut poster from Ikkis, he shared, “From cradling you as a baby to now witnessing you step into cinema… life feels complete. Simar, I've seen you grow from a timid girl hiding behind your mother to this self-assured young woman who can handle the camera effortlessly.”

He offered encouraging words for her future: “The journey may be tough, but with your spirit and determination that runs in our family, I know you will rise to the occasion. Our family motto is straightforward: work hard, pour your heart into it, and then witness the universe work its magic.”

Wrapping up his note with immense pride, Akshay proclaimed, “I’m immensely proud of you, my dear… The world is about to discover Simar Bhatia… but remember, to me, you have always been a star. Go ahead and shine! Jai Mahadev.”

Ikkis is an upcoming Bollywood biographical war drama that recounts the tale of Arun Khetarpal, the youngest Indian Army officer posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra during the 1971 Battle of Basantar. Starring Agastya Nanda as Arun, the film features veteran actor Dharmendra in his final role as Arun’s father, Brigadier M. L. Khetarpal. Directed by Sriram Raghavan and produced by Maddock Films, Ikkis is set to premiere on December 25, 2025.
