Al Waab Health Center Now Open on Weekends in Qatar

Al Waab Health Center Now Open on Weekends in Qatar

Post by : Badri Ariffin

The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) has revealed that Al Waab Health Center will commence operations during weekends, starting from next Friday, thereby expanding medical service accessibility in Qatar.

With the inclusion of Al Waab Health Center, the total number of PHCC facilities offering weekend services now stands at 22. These centers are strategically positioned across various regions, ensuring that residents have convenient access to medical care during weekends.

The centers now serving weekend patients consist of Musheireb, Al Sheehaniya, Muaither, Al Ruwais, Umm Salal, Madinat Khalifa, Leabaib, Al Khor, Gharrafat Al Rayyan, Al Waab, Al Matar, West Bay, Omar Bin Al Khattab, Al Wakra, Rawdat Al Khail, Al Thumama, Al Mashaf, Al Sadd, Al Rayyan, Abu Bakr Al Siddiq, Al Wajba, and Al Jemailiya, the latter of which operates on an on-call basis.

PHCC emphasized that this expansion is part of an ongoing strategy aimed at increasing healthcare accessibility, positioning medical services closer to communities, and improving the overall flexibility and effectiveness of healthcare provision nationwide.

Additionally, the corporation continues to enhance its urgent care capabilities with 15 health centers providing 24-hour urgent care for adults. These centers are equipped to address non-life-threatening urgent medical issues, alleviating the burden on hospital emergency departments and allowing healthcare facilities to focus on critical cases.

Furthermore, PHCC provides a telephonic urgent consultation service from Sunday to Thursday via its hotline 16000, enabling patients to receive medical advice, guidance, and referrals based on health conditions without the need for an immediate health center visit.

Currently, PHCC operates 31 health centers throughout Qatar, playing a crucial role in delivering community-based healthcare services and supporting the nation's objectives of providing accessible and efficient medical care for all residents.
