Al Wathba is gearing up to host one of the most significant New Year’s Eve festivities in the UAE, with the Sheikh Zayed Festival committee finalizing an extraordinary program. The celebration will showcase a remarkable 62-minute fireworks display, the world’s largest drone performance, and an array of cultural events from various nations, sponsors, and partners. The fireworks show is set to break five Guinness World Records and will unfold in five stages starting from 8 pm, illuminating the Al Wathba skyline until midnight.
The event will feature a groundbreaking drone spectacle with 6,500 drones executing nine enormous aerial designs for the first time in history. This mesmerizing show will be synchronized with the countdown and fireworks for a truly immersive visual experience. Official sponsors and partners will enhance the affair with engaging cultural activities, technical assistance for lighting and drones, and artistic performances.
Attendees can look forward to traditional Emirati performances like Al Ayala, Al Razfa, and Al Nadooba, featuring hundreds of performers, alongside international acts offering music, parades, and cultural exhibits. Additionally, family-friendly activities await with children’s shows at the Kids’ Theatre and events in the newly launched Wonderland entertainment city, which opened in December 2025.
To accommodate large crowds, the organizing committee has expanded preparations, introducing more entry and exit gates, broader pedestrian paths, and enhanced safety and medical support. Field teams will also be present to manage visitor flow. Entry will close once capacity is reached to ensure visitor safety.
The public is encouraged to stay updated via the festival’s official channels and to purchase tickets in advance. The Sheikh Zayed Festival aspires to blend tradition and innovation while providing global entertainment to create a joyous atmosphere for welcoming 2026 in Al Wathba.
