Fiancée Allegedly Transferred ₹1 Crore to Lover Before Pune Realtor's Murder

Fiancée Allegedly Transferred ₹1 Crore to Lover Before Pune Realtor's Murder

Post by : Badri Ariffin

New developments have surfaced in the investigation surrounding the murder of Pune realtor Ketan Agarwal, aged 26. Authorities suspect that his fiancée, Siya Goyal, transferred nearly ₹1 crore, which she had received from Agarwal for wedding expenses, to her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhary, as part of a premeditated plot to kill him.

Reports indicate that 20-year-old Siya Goyal and 22-year-old Chetan Chaudhary had schemed for months regarding the murder. Both were apprehended for allegedly planning to push Agarwal off a cliff at Lohagad Fort on June 18.

Allegations of Misusing Wedding Funds

Investigators assert that Goyal solicited approximately ₹1 crore from Agarwal, citing it as necessary for wedding arrangements. However, police now allege she funneled the entire sum to Chaudhary for his financial support instead of using it for the marriage.

Chaudhary was reportedly struggling with financial issues and conveyed to Goyal his need for up to three years to stabilize his situation. Authorities suspect that the couple agreed to delay their own wedding plans for three years following Agarwal's death, allowing attention on them to subside.

Investigators Note Pre-Planned Signal During Incident

Authorities allege that the murder was orchestrated with a prearranged signal. It is claimed that Goyal was to feign an excuse of either drinking water or tying her shoelaces, which was reportedly the cue for Chaudhary to push Agarwal off the cliff.

This signal was purportedly intended to keep Goyal out of reach, ensuring Agarwal couldn't grasp her during his fall.

Ongoing Scrutiny of Call Records and Earlier Incidents

Call Detail Records have bolstered the investigation, with police indicating that Goyal communicated with Chaudhary approximately 34 minutes prior to the incident, suggesting it was the last conversation before the alleged crime.

Authorities also assert that plans for the conspiracy were solidified by late May, with an earlier assassination attempt reported on June 14. This failed attempt saw Agarwal surviving after he clung to nearby foliage when allegedly pushed.

Later, Goyal characterized the incident as accidental, claiming a snake encounter prompted her to push Agarwal.

Following that foiled attempt, police suspect that Chaudhary revised his approach and tracked the couple to Lohagad Fort on June 18 to ensure Agarwal would not evade another attempt on his life.

Driver's Testimony Enters Investigation

Law enforcement has documented the statement from Vaibhav Jadhav, the driver responsible for transporting the couple to Mumbai airport for their intended pre-wedding getaway to Bali.

According to Jadhav, Goyal displayed reluctance to embark on the trip, alleging that her brother, Sahil, had coerced her into the vehicle after collecting her from Pune. He also recounted a quarrel between the siblings during the ride to Ravet in Pimpri-Chinchwad.

The journey continued toward Mumbai airport as Agarwal and several family members joined them; however, their Bali vacation was scrapped when Agarwal discovered his passport was missing at the airport.

Investigation Remains Active

Ongoing inquiries are delving into financial transactions, call records, witness testimonies, and other evidence as part of the continuing investigation into Ketan Agarwal's alleged murder conspiracy.
