Awqaf Dubai, officially known as the Endowment and Minors' Trust Foundation, has successfully allocated AED 74.7 million in returns from endowment investments for 2025 to various governmental and semi-governmental institutions that initiated these endowments.
The funds benefited nine organisations, notably the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD), the Community Development Authority (CDA), the Dubai Club for People of Determination, the Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU), and the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children (DFWAC), in addition to several others.
These endowment resources are vital for supporting essential sectors like healthcare, education, and community development. They play a crucial role in financing medical research, educational initiatives, care services for People of Determination, and various humanitarian efforts across Dubai.
Awqaf Dubai is dedicated to managing and investing these endowment assets using best practices tailored for institutional frameworks. The organisation adheres to robust governance and investment criteria to promise sustainable returns as well as long-term advantages for the beneficiary entities.
Officials emphasised that such a well-structured approach facilitates effective management of endowment assets, simultaneously maximizing their societal contributions. It also guarantees ongoing funding streams for approved community development projects.
His Excellency Ali Al Mutawa, Secretary General of Awqaf Dubai, mentioned that by enhancing investment performance and administrative effectiveness, the foundation is fortifying the endowment ecosystem.
Moreover, he noted that these endowments exemplify a potent community partnership model, essential for upholding healthcare, education, social welfare, and empowerment initiatives for People of Determination.
Additionally, Awqaf Dubai operates with a transparent and governance-driven spirit, ensuring that the beneficiary organisations can effectively pursue their humanitarian and social missions.
The foundation also reiterated its commitment to collaborating with government and semi-government parties to broaden the scope of endowment-driven projects. This initiative seeks to foster a culture of sustainable giving while supporting Dubai's overarching socio-economic development objectives.
