Salman Khan Celebrates Cricket Legends on Bigg Boss 19

Post by : Meena Ariff

This week’s Weekend Ka Vaar on Bigg Boss 19 was special as host Salman Khan greeted cricket icons Jhulan Goswami and Anjum Chopra. Their appearance was a tribute to India’s monumental first ICC Women’s World Cup victory.

Honoring the Women’s Cricket Champions

In a heartfelt Instagram video, Salman expressed his admiration for the cricket legends. He recounted how Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur had promised Jhulan they would secure the World Cup, with Jhulan reflecting, “When they presented me with the trophy, it was the pinnacle of my cricket journey.”

Anjum Chopra remarked on the legacy of the win, saying, “This victory will encourage young girls to aspire to be the next Jhulan, Smriti, or Harman. It will drive the future generation forward.”

Social Media Celebration

Jhulan Goswami later took to X to share moments from her time on Bigg Boss 19, capturing memories with Salman and Anjum. She noted, “This month has been filled with unforgettable moments, and this was certainly among them. I had a wonderful time sharing the stage with Salman Khan and Anjum Chopra.”

The Historic Women's World Cup Triumph

On November 2, under the captaincy of Harmanpreet Kaur, the Indian women’s cricket team claimed victory over South Africa by 52 runs. They presented the trophy to Jhulan Goswami, Anjum Chopra, and Mithali Raj, recognizing their invaluable contributions to the sport.

The triumphant World Cup has reignited discussions about the release of Jhulan Goswami’s biopic, Chakda Xpress, starring Anushka Sharma, which was delayed due to prior disputes between the filmmakers and Netflix.
