The Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed Bill Gates, the Co-Founder of Microsoft and Chair of the Gates Foundation, as part of its “MoFA Dialogues: Voices of Influence” series. During the event, he discussed how technology and innovation can cultivate a better tomorrow, while also shedding light on his global philanthropic efforts in areas like health, education, and agriculture. The dialogue was moderated by Badr Jafar, the Special Envoy for Business and Philanthropy.
This MoFA Dialogues initiative unites influential global thinkers and experts to share insights on paramount topics relevant to the UAE and beyond. The sessions promote the exchange of views on pivotal issues including foreign policy, economic growth, artificial intelligence, and investment patterns. Furthermore, it offers a platform for exploring future opportunities and the challenges that various sectors may encounter.
The UAE continues to heavily invest in burgeoning industries, with a focus on advanced technology and AI, which aligns with its vision for a secure and prosperous future. To date, the government has sanctioned over 40 national projects, laws, and agreements aimed at attracting leading talent, corporations, and substantial investments. Such initiatives underpin the UAE's ambition to emerge as a global center for technology and innovation in the coming two decades.
The country’s resolute dedication to AI, bolstered by national programs and strategic international partnerships, underscores its goal of establishing itself as a global leader in technological advancement. The UAE is committed to ensuring that robust infrastructures in advanced technology generate new opportunities for youth and future generations, paving the way for sustained growth, development, and global competitiveness.
