Calidus Partners with 3ME to Innovate Hybrid Defence Vehicles

Calidus Partners with 3ME to Innovate Hybrid Defence Vehicles

Post by : Rameen Ariff

Calidus Holding Group, a key player in defence and manufacturing based in the UAE, has made a significant move toward innovation by entering into a strategic partnership with 3ME Technology, a top Australian systems integrator. This collaboration aims to create hybrid solutions tailored for Calidus' range of defence vehicles throughout the region. The agreement was formalized recently at a signing event featuring representatives from both companies.

The signing was carried out by Dr. Khalifa Murad Alblooshi, Managing Director and CEO of Calidus, alongside Justin Bain, CEO of 3ME Technology. Both executives highlighted their excitement regarding the partnership and its potential to revolutionize the defence vehicle landscape by integrating advanced hybrid technologies.

Through this partnership, Calidus and 3ME will focus on initiatives to develop and implement hybrid power systems within defence vehicles. These innovations are expected to enhance operational flexibility, improve energy efficiency, and lower emissions, making the vehicles more sustainable, future-ready, and capable of meeting demanding operational requirements with greater reliability.

Dr. Khalifa Alblooshi noted that this agreement aligns seamlessly with Calidus' objective to lead in defence manufacturing innovation. He stated that collaborating with 3ME Technology would accelerate the integration of electrified power solutions across Calidus' fleet, crucial for mission preparedness. This partnership also supports the UAE's national strategy to strengthen its defence sector and embrace future-oriented technologies that foster growth and competitiveness.

Justin Bain elucidated that 3ME Technology boasts a proven history of developing innovative power systems under Australia’s challenging conditions, such as those found in underground mining and defence applications, where robustness, reliability, and performance are essential. With this partnership, 3ME aims to bring this tested expertise to the UAE on a larger scale, expressing confidence that the merger of 3ME's technology and Calidus' advanced manufacturing ability will lead to defence vehicles capable of faster operations, longer ranges, and enhanced efficiency for future missions.

The collaboration between Calidus Holding Group and 3ME Technology marks a pivotal moment in the evolution of the defence sector in the UAE and around the region. This partnership underscores a mutual commitment to innovation, sustainability, and the advancement of modern defence solutions. The companies intend to work closely to create hybrid vehicles that align with contemporary defence needs, reduce the environmental footprint, and offer cutting-edge technology to boost the operational capacity of armed forces.

Overall, this partnership is expected to catalyze growth in the UAE's defence industry, promote technological innovations, and solidify the nation's standing as a leader in the global defence manufacturing arena.
