Celina Jaitly Initiates Legal Action Over Domestic Violence, Demands ₹50 Crore

Celina Jaitly Initiates Legal Action Over Domestic Violence, Demands ₹50 Crore

Post by : Rameen Ariff

Celina Jaitly, the former Bollywood actress, has taken decisive legal action against her husband Peter Haag by launching a domestic violence case in a Mumbai court. This case, filed under the Domestic Violence Act, accuses Haag of manipulation, cruelty, and emotional distress towards Celina. The proceedings are currently before the Judicial Magistrate First Class in Andheri, Maharashtra, where the court is evaluating the claims and issuing relevant notices.

In her petition, Celina is seeking a significant ₹50 crores as compensation for alleged losses in income and property due to the ongoing personal legal proceedings with her spouse. The gravity of her claims underscores the serious domestic issues she is alleging.

Peter Haag is an Austrian businessman and hotelier, having tied the knot with Celina in 2011. Together, they are parents to four boys, including two sets of twins. Tragically, one of their youngest twins, Shamsher, lost his life in 2017 due to a heart ailment. Although the family maintained a public presence, recent developments have shifted their struggles into the public arena.

This case unfolds amidst another family crisis, notably involving Celina's brother, Major (Retd) Vikrant Jaitly. He was allegedly imprisoned in the United Arab Emirates in September 2024, prompting Celina to seek help from Indian authorities. The Ministry of External Affairs has confirmed its efforts to assist Vikrant and has made multiple visits. Following Celina's petition, the Delhi High Court ordered the government to provide necessary legal and medical support to her brother.

Celina Jaitly, recognized for her achievements in Bollywood and as a Miss Universe runner-up, has been vocal in her pursuit of justice and aid for her family. Her public outcry emphasizes her commitment to safeguarding her loved ones and addressing the challenges they face.

The domestic violence case against Peter Haag marks a critical step that highlights the need for legal protection for victims of abuse. As legal proceedings continue, more details will emerge, guiding the court in resolving Celina's claims.

Celina Jaitly's legal battle emphasizes her fight for justice regarding alleged domestic abuse and financial restitution, alongside her family's legal difficulties abroad. The situation remains under judicial review as all parties await the court's judgment.
