Recently spotted outside the office of Maddock Films, Deepika Padukone has sparked chatter about her upcoming projects. Initially rumored to be involved in a horror-comedy, new insights suggest a pivot to a different genre.
Deepika is being considered for the leading female role in Maddock Films’ anticipated mythological film Mahavatar, featuring Vicky Kaushal. Announced last year, the narrative centers on the legendary warrior Parashuram.
An insider shared, “We are searching for an actress who can bring significant depth and emotional resonance opposite Parashuram. Deepika is under consideration and fits the role beautifully. Conversations have started, but they're still in preliminary stages. She’s a top contender.”
Director Amar Kaushik emphasized the importance of the female character, stating, “From the outset, we intended for this role to have substantial importance in the storyline.”
If confirmed, this collaboration will mark the first time Deepika Padukone and Vicky Kaushal will work together. The official announcement about her involvement is still pending.
Kaushik also shared his thoughts on Vicky’s casting, mentioning, “Vicky has experience as an assistant director and learned under Anurag Kashyap. I have always wanted to collaborate with him. When the concept of Mahavatar emerged, I realized he perfectly embodies the integrity, intensity, and depth that this character requires.”
