A heartbreaking chapter closed in Delhi on Tuesday as 80-year-old Radhe Shyam Aggarwal passed away at a hospital in Saket, days after eight members of his family were killed in a devastating hotel fire in Malviya Nagar. The elderly patriarch had been undergoing treatment at a hospital for a respiratory illness when the fire broke out at a nearby bed-and-breakfast accommodation where his family had been staying. According to relatives, Radhe Shyam Aggarwal remained unaware of the tragedy that had unfolded just a short distance from the hospital. During his final days, he reportedly continued asking about the whereabouts of his family members, not knowing that they had all perished in the fire.

One of the most emotional aspects of the tragedy involved his granddaughter Jivisha, an engineering student from Bengaluru, who had travelled to Delhi specifically to spend time with her grandfather. Family members recalled that the elderly man had proudly told hospital staff that his granddaughter had come from another city to see him during his illness.

The Aggarwal residence in Gurugram now stands empty, a painful reminder of a family that was once filled with life, memories, and togetherness. The loss has left distant relatives and friends struggling to come to terms with the scale of the tragedy.
