On Friday evening, a vehicle crashed into the entrance of Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport, striking a ticket counter and resulting in injuries to six individuals, as confirmed by airport officials.
The Wayne County Airport Authority stated that the driver has been taken into custody. Currently, the cause of the crash remains undetermined, and authorities are investigating the incident.
Emergency services from the WCAA Fire Department attended to the injured at the scene, though their conditions have not been publicly disclosed.
Social media footage captured a blue four-door sedan halted within the terminal, near Delta Air Lines counters, with both the hood and trunk open. Debris and shattered glass were visible at the entrance, encircled by police tape.
The identity of the driver has not yet been revealed. Investigations are underway to ascertain if the crash was accidental or intentional.
