YouTube Music is offering a sneak preview of its users' 2025 listening patterns through an enhanced year-end Recap, now equipped with AI chat technology. This exciting update enables music enthusiasts to delve into their annual music trends in a personalized and engaging manner, elevating the traditional “top songs” concept into an interactive experience.

Accessible on both Android and iOS via the YouTube Music app, users can simply navigate to their profile and choose “Your Recap” followed by “Get your Recap” to begin. The feature presents a storytelling format with a user-friendly carousel layout for effortless section navigation.

Highlights of the 2025 Recap

This revamped Recap includes metrics such as the total time spent listening this year, your “longest streak,” and an overview of your most-played tracks. Users will receive a list of their top five songs, complete with options to save a curated playlist. Additional playlists for specific months, especially from September to November, provide a closer look at seasonal listening trends.

An enjoyable feature called “your musical bestie” reveals your top artist along with a calendar display of the days you listened to them most. The “musical passport” section showcases the origins of your favorite artists, broadening the perspective on your musical preferences. Other sections cover popular albums, podcasts, genres, and a concluding summary graphic.

Bringing Your Music Experience to Life with AI Chat

The most notable element this year is the AI-powered chat, “Ask about your year.” Utilizing YouTube Music’s AI assistant, Ask Music, fans can pose questions such as “How did my listening habits shift this year?” or “Was my music selection more mellow or energizing?” The AI provides interactive insights that can be shared as custom graphics on social platforms.

This innovative feature will gradually be available to users in the coming days, offering a fresh way to celebrate your 2025 musical journey.
