DP World Tour 2026 Schedule Released New Venues, Big Prizes & Global Golf

DP World Tour 2026 Schedule Released New Venues, Big Prizes & Global Golf

Post by : Raman

The DP World Tour has unveiled its official schedule for 2026, setting the stage for an exciting and action-packed year for golf fans around the world. The 2026 season will feature at least 42 tournaments across 25 countries, offering players a record total prize fund of $157.5 million, excluding Major Championships. This demonstrates the Tour’s commitment to attracting the best golfers and providing top earning opportunities globally.

A Global Tour Across Five Continents

The season will be divided into three main parts: the five “Global Swings,” the “Back 9,” and the “DP World Tour Play-Offs” in November. Golfers will compete in iconic tournaments and explore new venues, giving fans the chance to witness thrilling performances across the globe.

The season will kick off with the Estrella Damm Catalunya Championship in Barcelona, Spain, from May 7 to 10. This new addition marks Spain as the first country in continental Europe to host the Ryder Cup twice, with the 2031 Ryder Cup also set in Catalunya. The Real Club de Golf El Prat, which hosted the Open de España in 2015, will welcome the players again.

Other exciting tournaments include the ISCO Championship (July 9–12) and the Corales Puntacana Championship in the Dominican Republic (July 16–19). For the first time, the Dominican Republic event will count toward Race to Dubai points, further boosting its significance.

Rolex Series and Dubai Highlights

Rolex Series events will remain central to the season, featuring tournaments like the Genesis Scottish Open, Hero Dubai Desert Classic, and BMW PGA Championship. The two Play-Off events in Abu Dhabi, culminating with the DP World Tour Championship, will determine the winner of the 2026 Race to Dubai, offering intense competition and high stakes.

Dubai will play a significant role in the 2026 schedule, hosting three tournaments, including the Dubai Invitational from January 15 to 18. This highlights Dubai’s importance as a global golf hub.

New Venues and Tournament Innovations

The Amgen Irish Open will be hosted at a new venue, Trump International Golf Links Ireland, Doonbeg, from September 10 to 13, marking another exciting addition to the Tour. These changes aim to give players and fans fresh experiences and broaden the Tour’s reach internationally.

Membership Changes for Fair Play

Alongside the 2026 schedule, the DP World Tour announced several membership adjustments to ensure fairer playing opportunities. Full card eligibility will now extend to the top 100 players from the Race to Dubai, down from 110. Players ranked 101–110 will receive conditional cards. Additionally, the number of cards from the HotelPlanner Tour and Qualifying School will decrease from 20 to 15, offering a clearer and more structured pathway for players.

International tours, including the PGA Tour of Australasia, Sunshine Tour, Japan Golf Tour, and Korean Golf Tour, will continue to provide opportunities for top players, ensuring a balanced and globally inclusive Tour.

CEO’s Statement on 2026 Season

Guy Kinnings, CEO of the DP World Tour, highlighted that the 2026 season celebrates international talent and diversity, blending traditional national Opens with global events. He emphasized the importance of creating a clear season-long story for both players and fans, ensuring exciting competition across continents.

Exciting Season Ahead

The 2026 DP World Tour promises a season full of competitive golf, new challenges, and global adventures. With high prize money, new venues, and a well-structured membership system, players can compete fairly while fans can enjoy thrilling tournaments worldwide. From historic courses in Europe to exciting new venues in the Dominican Republic and Dubai, 2026 is set to be a remarkable year for the world of golf.

The DP World Tour continues to showcase golf at its finest, combining talent, innovation, and international appeal to offer fans unforgettable experiences and players a chance to shine on the global stage.
