Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the UAE Parliamentary Division to the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), addressed the 151st IPU General Assembly in Geneva, underscoring the crucial nature of international humanitarian law. He highlighted the UAE’s proactive approach in humanitarian and charitable initiatives, especially in regions like Africa that are troubled by conflict and poverty. The UAE aims to deliver food, medical supplies, education, and infrastructural support to enhance the welfare of impacted communities.

Building partnerships among nations and fostering mutual values, he outlined, are vital to achieving a sustainable and peaceful future. Synergistic efforts among parliaments, governments, and humanitarian entities can magnify the effectiveness of aid and promote global stability.

Dr. Al Nuaimi concluded with a strong reminder that adherence to international humanitarian laws guarantees dignity and justice for all. Upholding these principles not only protects vulnerable populations but also fortifies global unity and promotes collaborative action in addressing crises.

He urged global parliamentarians to engage more actively in humanitarian endeavors, championing human rights policies, and facilitating initiatives to ensure that aid is provided equitably and without bias.
