Dubai Unveils AI+ Program to Equip 50,000 Government Workers

Dubai Unveils AI+ Program to Equip 50,000 Government Workers

Post by : Badri Ariffin

Digital Dubai has launched the AI Workforce Transformation Program (AI+), a significant effort aimed at preparing Dubai’s public sector for the future of artificial intelligence. The initiative seeks to train 50,000 government employees to adeptly integrate AI into everyday duties and service delivery.

Working alongside the Dubai Government Human Resources Department (DGHR) and the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence, this program is part of the Dubai Future Foundation's broader vision to enhance digital transformation across all government sectors.

Aim: Creating an AI-Enabled Government Framework

The AI+ initiative strives to elevate AI proficiency among government employees. Its goal is to empower staff to utilize AI tools that enhance efficiency, bolster decision-making, and deliver better public services.

Through tailored learning pathways, this initiative endeavors to cultivate a workforce capable of creating proactive, data-centric services that effectively address community needs.

Visionary Leadership Driving This Initiative

H.E. Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director General of Digital Dubai, stated that public sector employees are evolving into key actors in shaping intelligent services rather than mere technology users. He underscored that this initiative is pivotal for Dubai's transition to an intelligence-driven governance model aligned with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.

DGHR Director General H.E. Abdulla Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi emphasized the importance of investing in human capital and future-ready abilities, particularly in AI, to enhance governmental efficiency and innovation.

H.E. Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of the Dubai Future Foundation, remarked that this program fortifies Dubai’s AI ecosystem by transitioning advanced technologies into impactful government applications.

Comprehensive Training Tracks for Diverse Roles

The AI+ program features specialized training tracks designed for various job roles within the government:

  • Leadership Track: Emphasis on AI strategy, global case studies, and policy development

  • Chief AI Officers Track: Practical workshops focused on implementing Dubai’s AI framework

  • Products & Services Track: Guidance from ideation through to AI use-case development

  • Managers Track: Focus on AI integration within teams, process automation, and optimizing resources

  • Employee Track: Hands-on AI skills ranging from prompt engineering to automation and productivity tools

Advancing Dubai’s Digital Horizon

By empowering employees with cutting-edge AI competencies, the program seeks to enhance productivity, improve institutional performance, and speed up innovation in public services. This reaffirms Dubai’s status as a global frontrunner in digital governance and AI transformation.
