Dubai Chambers Establishes Agentic AI Committee to Boost Business Innovation

Dubai Chambers Establishes Agentic AI Committee to Boost Business Innovation

Post by : Badri Ariffin

In a significant move to bolster Dubai's private sector, Dubai Chambers has established the Executive Committee for Agentic AI. This initiative aims to assist local businesses in adopting cutting-edge artificial intelligence technologies while enhancing their global competitiveness.

This step comes after H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council, launched a campaign intended to transition Dubai's commercial sector toward advanced Agentic AI—a next-generation AI that operates with greater autonomy.

The committee convened its inaugural online meeting under the leadership of H.E. Eng. Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, Chairman of both Dubai Chambers and the Executive Committee for Agentic AI. Key attendees included H.E. Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, who also serves as Vice Chairman of the committee.

Strengthening Business Dynamics

Al Mansoori emphasized Dubai's commitment to being a front-runner in innovation, thereby enhancing the competitive edge of local enterprises. He pointed out that embracing Agentic AI demonstrates Dubai's forward-thinking approach to technology, which aims to foster an economy that is resilient, sustainable, and innovation-driven.

The initiative aims to improve operational efficiency, boost productivity, and unlock new opportunities in key growth sectors. Al Mansoori also mentioned that the committee is crafting a comprehensive framework that includes specialised training programs for Business Councils and Groups affiliated with Dubai Chamber of Commerce, AI incubators, and enhanced cooperation between the public and private sectors to expedite digital transformation.

Fostering a Tech-Centric Economy

Omar Sultan Al Olama noted that this initiative aligns with H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's vision of making Dubai a global tech hub. He stated that efforts are underway to foster an ecosystem driven by Agentic AI, enabling government and private organizations to boost efficiency, accelerate innovation, and keep pace with worldwide technological advancements.

According to Al Olama, this transformation is vital for establishing a knowledge-centric, technology-driven digital economy that will promote the development of advanced AI solutions, nurture startup growth, and further position Dubai as a leading center for next-gen digital tech.

Mandates of the Committee

The Executive Committee for Agentic AI will execute a two-year strategy for promoting Agentic AI adoption, taking on responsibilities such as:

  • Approval of specialised training programs for Business Groups and Councils.

  • Creation of incubators for Agentic AI firms in Dubai.

  • Support for businesses developing and utilizing Agentic AI technologies.

  • Establishment of funding initiatives to assist businesses transitioning to Agentic AI.

  • Encouragement of knowledge sharing and skills development in AI across Dubai's business landscape.

This initiative is emblematic of Dubai's ambition to leap forward in AI integration, facilitate digital transformation, and secure sustainable economic growth while amplifying the competitiveness of its business sector.
