Dubai Secures First Place in Global Greenfield FDI for Fifth Year Running

For the fifth consecutive year in 2025, Dubai has reaffirmed its status as the foremost destination for greenfield foreign direct investment (FDI) projects, according to the Financial Times' fDi Markets database.

The emirate reported 1,253 newly announced greenfield FDI projects, reflecting a growth of 10.5% from 2024. Notably, Dubai achieved a historic 7% share of global greenfield FDI projects.

This milestone aligns with Dubai's Economic Agenda D33, which seeks to double the economy's size by 2033 and enhance the emirate's stature as a global powerhouse for business, investment, and innovation.

Strategic Leadership Across Sectors

Dubai continues to excel in various critical investment sectors on a global scale. For the fourth year running, the city retained its position as the top global hub for headquarters greenfield FDI, signaling robust confidence from multinational corporations aiming to expand both regionally and internationally.

Additionally, Dubai held its leading position in artificial intelligence-related greenfield FDI projects for the fourth consecutive year, further cementing its image as a center for both innovation and advanced technology.

The emirate ranked first globally across several strategic sectors, including:

  • Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
  • Electronics
  • Creative Industries
  • Professional Services
  • Life Sciences
  • Consumer Goods
  • Financial Services
  • Industrial Equipment
  • Environmental Technology

In a notable milestone, Dubai secured the top global ranking in manufacturing FDI projects, highlighting its evolving role as a modern manufacturing hub.

The city also took the lead worldwide in transportation and warehousing initiatives, reinforcing its status as a critical global trade and logistics gateway.

Investment Surges to $8.83 Billion

In 2025, total investment in Dubai reached $8.83 billion (AED 32.43 billion) from greenfield FDI.

This investment boom led to the creation of 38,918 jobs, an impressive 18.8% rise from the 32,754 jobs recorded in 2024.

Dubai attracted a diverse array of investment types, including:

  • Greenfield projects
  • Reinvestments
  • Venture capital-backed investments
  • Mergers and acquisitions
  • Strategic business expansions

These investments spanned critical business functions such as services, construction, retail, logistics, transportation, and manufacturing.

Robust Economic Growth Inspires Investor Trust

Dubai's economy demonstrated significant vigor throughout 2025, achieving an annual GDP of AED 937 billion with a growth rate of 5.4% for the year.

Economic growth accelerated in Q4, reaching 6.4%, showcasing resilience amid ongoing global economic uncertainties.

Officials highlighted that Dubai's strong economic fundamentals, state-of-the-art infrastructure, business-friendly regulations, and strategic location played a pivotal role in attracting global investors.

Widespread Global Investment Sources

Dubai successfully garnered investments from a diverse range of international markets, spanning North America, Europe, Asia, and the Gulf region.

The emirate's strategic geographic positioning and robust connectivity have bolstered its appeal as a top choice for global investors.

Prominent sectors drawing considerable investments encompass:

Dubai's Commitment to Future Economic Expansion
