Dubai, UAE — Dubai has reasserted its dedication to providing top-tier public services as His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum convened with leaders of the City Makers initiative, a collaborative government programme aimed at enhancing services vital to community well-being.
In a meeting hosted by The Executive Council's General Secretariat, Sheikh Maktoum reviewed advancements in service improvements aligned with Dubai’s vision of becoming the world’s “most beautiful and best city.” He reiterated the guiding principles of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and the directives from His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, emphasizing a unified government structure that prioritizes people's needs.
Sheikh Maktoum remarked that the teamwork displayed across the government is a significant asset. He stressed that understanding community needs and providing smooth, interconnected services are crucial for maintaining the emirate’s social and economic progress. He indicated that public service growth will remain focused on people, involving coordinated efforts between various government bodies.
The meeting also highlighted the impressive scale of Dubai's expansion, with its population now exceeding four million and Dubai International Airport accommodating 93.8 million passengers over the last year, ranking it among the top three global travel destinations at the end of 2025. Officials pointed out that these achievements illustrate the success of collaborative government efforts across various sectors.
The City Makers initiative continues to focus on services that yield tangible benefits to communities, including social support initiatives, health and empowerment programs, cultural preservation efforts, and partnerships that bolster the readiness of public infrastructure.
Sheikh Maktoum commended the teams involved in these efforts, referring to them as “city makers,” whose contributions enhance community welfare and align with the objectives set out in the Dubai 2033 Plan.
By unifying government teams, Dubai aims to establish new benchmarks for service excellence and uphold its competitive edge globally.
