Dubai has launched one of its most ambitious development plans yet, aiming to become one of the world’s most beautiful, liveable, and healthiest cities. The AED 18.3 billion project, revealed during the UAE Government Annual Meetings, focuses on enhancing green spaces, education, employment, and sports across the city.
Expanding Green Spaces
Central to the plan is the Public Parks and Greenery Strategy. Over the next decade, Dubai aims to develop 630 new parks, triple the number of trees, and increase annual park visits to 95 million. This effort is designed not only to beautify the city but also to improve residents’ wellbeing and environmental sustainability.
Education Access and Affordable Schools
In the education sector, Dubai’s Executive Council approved incentives to establish 60 affordable schools by 2033. The initiative seeks to provide broader access to quality, low-cost education, helping nurture the next generation of skilled professionals.
Boosting Employment and Aviation Expertise
The Aviation Talent 33 initiative is set to create 15,000 new jobs, focusing on strengthening national expertise in the aviation industry. This move positions Dubai as a strategic hub for aviation talent in the region.
Promoting Sports and Healthy Lifestyles
Dubai is also stepping up its efforts to promote sports and physical activity through the Sports Strategic Plan 2033. The plan includes 75 initiatives aimed at encouraging active lifestyles and reinforcing the city’s global reputation as a sporting destination.
This transformation plan reflects Dubai’s vision of blending innovation with nature, while improving the quality of life for residents. The city is targeting a future where wellbeing, sustainability, and excellence define everyday life, making it a role model for modern urban living.
