Awqaf Dubai Sees 52% Growth in Educational Investment

Awqaf Dubai Sees 52% Growth in Educational Investment

Post by : Badri Ariffin

Dubai: The Endowment and Minors’ Trust Foundation, known as Awqaf Dubai, has reported a remarkable growth in its educational endowment assets, totaling AED 718 million in 2026, a 52% rise from the prior year.

These resources are split across 52 distinct endowments aimed at enhancing the education sector and lending support to students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

Among these assets, 24 real estate endowments, valued at AED 663 million, include various properties such as buildings, villas, and retail spaces. The portfolio also consists of 28 financial endowments, valued at AED 55 million, which cover investments in bonds and shares.

The earnings from these endowments are utilized to offer educational scholarships and crucial school supplies, in partnership with 45 educational institutions.

In 2025, over 3,100 students enrolled in schools and universities—both locally and internationally—benefited from these programs, culminating in scholarships totaling approximately AED 5.9 million.

Ali Al Mutawa, Secretary-General of Awqaf Dubai, emphasized the critical role of educational endowments in empowering deserving students. He stated that these initiatives facilitate academic pursuits and the building of successful futures.

The 52% increase, he noted, showcases the foundation's dedication to broadening its support base and securing ongoing educational contributions.

Al Mutawa added that Awqaf Dubai is continuously working to expand its endowment services and raise the number of beneficiaries, which positively influences social development.

He acknowledged the vital support of donors and philanthropists, asserting that investments in education are crucial for the future of the UAE, fostering a more progressive and sustainable society.
