On Thursday morning, His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, welcomed the sons of the late Sheikh Abdul Basit Mohammed Abdul Samad at the Holy Quran Academy. During this occasion, he also introduced the new smart Quran application, “Al Moeen”.

This visit exemplified Sharjah's unwavering dedication to preserving the Holy Quran's heritage and recognizing influential figures committed to its recitation and dissemination.

A Salute to an Iconic Reciter

The Ruler expressed profound admiration for Sheikh Abdul Basit Mohammed Abdul Samad, one of the world’s most distinguished Quran reciters. His Highness highlighted how the late Sheikh’s impressive command of the seven Quranic readings earned him respect and admiration across generations of Muslims.

Sheikh Abdul Basit’s melodious voice and commitment to the Holy Quran forged a lasting impact on listeners globally, ensuring his legacy remains revered.

Sharjah's Continued Commitment to the Holy Quran

His Highness affirmed that Sharjah is steadfast in its support for initiatives and projects related to the Quran and its teachings. He accentuated the necessity of leveraging modern technology to safeguard Quranic culture and to convey it to future generations, in alignment with contemporary needs and Islamic values.

These endeavors resonate with Sharjah's cultural vision, placing knowledge, faith, and heritage at the forefront of its development goals.

Family Gratitude and Acknowledgment

The family of Sheikh Abdul Basit expressed heartfelt thanks to His Highness for honoring their father’s legacy and for acknowledging the significant role of Quran education. They commended Sharjah's leading contribution to the preservation of Quranic traditions and luminaries.

Tour of the Renowned Reciters Museum

His Highness subsequently toured the Museum of Renowned Reciters at the Holy Quran Academy, inaugurating a dedicated section for Sheikh Abdul Basit’s personal artifacts. This exhibit features a unique assembly of photographs and personal items that outline the Sheikh’s impactful life and affiliations with prominent scholars and global figures.

Additionally, a documentary showcasing pivotal moments in Sheikh Abdul Basit's journey in Quranic recitation was presented.

Exhibits of Historical Significance

During his tour, His Highness received insights about various items on display including Quran copies, recording devices utilized by Sheikh Abdul Basit, handwritten letters, certification documents, as well as an array of awards and honors received throughout his illustrious life.

Mutual Appreciation and Exchange of Gifts

His Highness honored the sons of Sheikh Abdul Basit by presenting them with a certificate of appreciation for their generous donation of their father’s possessions to the Museum. This initiative will assist in safeguarding the Sheikh’s heritage for future generations.

In gratitude, the family gifted His Highness a commemorative token, acknowledging his relentless efforts to support the Quran and its esteemed scholars.

Introduction of the “Al Moeen” Smart Quran App

At this event, His Highness officially launched the “Al Moeen” smart application by activating it on a tablet device. This innovative platform is tailored to assist users in reciting and memorizing the Holy Quran through an interactive approach.

Innovative Features for Learning

His Highness was shown the app’s salient features. “Al Moeen” includes real-time tracking for recitation, utilizing advanced voice recognition technology that identifies errors in pronunciation and articulation, along with instant corrective suggestions.

Furthermore, the app offers intelligent memorization and review options that formulate personalized learning strategies based on the user’s proficiency level, maintaining accuracy via the Ottoman layout of the Quran.

Worldwide Accessibility and Multilingual Functionality

Supporting smart search capabilities through text and voice, the application also caters to diverse users with multiple languages for its interface, translations, and commentaries. It is currently available in Arabic, English, French, and Urdu, with plans for worldwide release through major app platforms.

The event was attended by notable figures, including His Excellency Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al Owais, Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs, Dr Khalifa Musabah Al Tuneiji, and other dignitaries.
