The Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) Free Zone has forged a significant alliance with DHL Express, globally recognized for its logistics services, aimed at facilitating the international expansion of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
This alliance is designed to bolster the business environment within the DWTC Free Zone by offering essential support, knowledge, and trade options for SMEs. The initiative targets operational improvements, resilience building, and market accessibility on a global scale.
Central to this partnership is the GoTrade initiative by DHL, a program tailored to aid SMEs through comprehensive training, expert knowledge, and capacity development. Businesses prepared for export will benefit from specialized guidance that empowers them to traverse the complexities of international trading and cross-border growth.
The formal signing of the agreement occurred at the DHL Express UAE office, witnessed by Mahmoud Haj Hussain, Managing Director of DHL Express UAE, along with Abdalla Al Banna, Vice President of Free Zone Regulatory Operations at DWTC Free Zone.
Abdalla Al Banna remarked on the critical role of Dubai’s SMEs in the economic landscape, highlighting their integral part in the Dubai Economic Agenda D33. He reaffirmed DWTC Free Zone’s dedication to facilitating businesses in tapping into global markets through a network of resources and specialized knowledge.
According to him, the collaboration with DHL will further enrich the Free Zone community through the GoTrade initiatives, ensuring that SMEs enhance their capabilities for engaging in international trade. This partnership aligns with DWTC Free Zone’s mission to foster a competitive atmosphere that drives innovation and growth to further Dubai’s economic ambitions.
The DWTC Free Zone will grant its network of over 2,500 enterprises access to the DHL GoTrade program, spanning various fields across Dubai’s pivotal business hubs.
As part of this initiative, SMEs that participate will receive no-cost, expert-led training, featuring a robust curriculum encompassing 14 interactive modules that cover essential topics such as logistics, global trade laws, customs, e-commerce, client relations, and financial management.
Mahmoud Haj Hussain pointed out that even as global trade has become more reachable, many SMEs encounter hurdles in their international endeavors. He expressed that DHL is not merely a logistics service but also serves as a partner in growth, connecting businesses with global prospects through its extensive network and trade wisdom.
Hussain elaborated on how the GoTrade program empowers entrepreneurs and enterprises by providing necessary insights into international shipping, customs, e-commerce, and cross-border commerce, enabling them to effectively compete in international markets.
This partnership also sets the stage for ongoing cooperation and knowledge sharing between DWTC Free Zone and DHL Express, as both entities anticipate collaborative opportunities targeting SME growth and innovation.
The collaboration with DHL Express marks the latest of many strategic affiliations established by the DWTC Free Zone to optimize value for entrepreneurs, start-ups, and established businesses in the area.
The DWTC Free Zone continues to stand out as a premier business hub in the region, offering complete foreign ownership, no personal income tax, and an array of over 1,200 licensed activities for firms eager to launch and expand their international footprint.
