Dubai: The Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) has revealed impressive performance figures for 2025, spurred by a significant increase in international business events and participation. This development solidifies Dubai's reputation as a foremost global hub for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE).
During the year, DWTC successfully hosted 401 events, representing a 6% growth, with total attendance soaring to 2.97 million, a 12% year-on-year increase. Events utilized facilities at both the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre and the Dubai Exhibition Centre.
MICE Sector Thrives
Among the events organized, 134 were categorized as MICE, attracting 2.19 million participants, an 8% rise. International attendance remained robust, with 951,000 attendees from around the globe, accounting for 43% of the total.
The number of exhibitors exceeded 63,000, with 78% of these being international, emphasizing Dubai’s growing appeal for businesses and investors worldwide.
Flagship Events Boost Attendance
DWTC's 14 key events drew close to 630,000 visitors, a 7% increase, with approximately 41% coming from outside the UAE.
Notable events such as Gulfood Manufacturing and GITEX Global experienced strong growth, up by 12% and 10%, respectively. Besides, the organization expanded its reach globally, hosting event editions across Europe, Africa, and Asia.
Outstanding Sector Highlights in 2025
Various sectors showcased notable performances:
Healthcare & Medical: 436,000 participants (highest share)
Technology (ICT): 341,000 participants, an increase of 21%
Food & Beverage: 280,000 participants
Retail & Consumer Goods: 117,000 participants
Security & Safety: 105,000 participants
Key exhibitions such as World Health Expo, Intersec, and Arabian Travel Market reflect a diverse and focused event schedule catering to various industries.
Expansion of the Dubai Exhibition Centre
A significant milestone for 2025 was the completion of Phase 1 of the Dubai Exhibition Centre (DEC) expansion, adding 140,000 sqm of event space. This venue hosted 36 events and attracted 319,000 attendees, enhancing Dubai's capacity for large-scale international exhibitions.
Conferences and Global Engagements Shine
DWTC also conducted 25 conferences that brought together 62,000 participants, including 11 new events. Furthermore, 14 international association meetings welcomed 29,000 attendees, demonstrating Dubai's ability to engage professional communities globally.
Growth of the Business Ecosystem
The broader ecosystem connected with DWTC witnessed significant growth as well:
New registrations in the Free Zone: 850 companies
Commercial property occupancy: 97%
Residential property occupancy: 96%
New frameworks were also introduced to support evolving business needs and adaptable corporate structures.
