Gulf Businesswomen Forge Path in Entrepreneurship & Innovation

Gulf Businesswomen Forge Path in Entrepreneurship & Innovation

Post by : Badri Ariffin

A delegation of 30 UAE businesswomen from the Emirates Businesswomen Council (EBWC) made a strong impression at the 7th GCC Businesswomen Forum held in Qatar on 12–13 November, highlighting the growing role of women in driving entrepreneurship and sustainable investment across the region.

Hosted under the theme “Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Investment,” the forum brought together women leaders from across the Gulf to exchange ideas, explore opportunities, and strengthen regional economic cooperation. Organised by the Federation of GCC Chambers in partnership with Qatar Chamber and supported by the Gulf Cooperation Council, the event served as a platform for advancing women-led initiatives in emerging sectors.

During the forum, the UAE delegation shared a forward-looking vision for empowering Gulf women in the new economy, focusing on areas such as the digital economy, renewable energy, and technology-driven entrepreneurship. This participation underscores the UAE’s broader mission of nurturing female leadership and expanding international engagement for Emirati women in business and economic sectors.

Ayesha Mohammed Almulla, Chairperson of EBWC, emphasized the importance of collaboration in building a diversified and sustainable Gulf economy. “Strengthening partnerships among businesswomen across the GCC and investing in innovative sectors is key to ensuring women take a leading role in shaping the modern economy,” she said.

The forum also featured detailed discussions on sustainable finance, entrepreneurial innovation, and knowledge-sharing, creating new avenues for joint investment and regional integration. Through initiatives like these, Gulf women are positioned to contribute actively to economic growth, reinforcing the UAE’s commitment to gender-inclusive development in local, regional, and global markets.
