The much-anticipated romantic drama Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat starring Harshvardhan Rane and Sonam Bajwa made an impressive start at the box office on its opening day, Tuesday. The film, directed by Milap Zaveri, witnessed a promising response from audiences, with early estimates indicating a strong performance for the musical-romance drama.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat raked in ₹7.35 crore net in India on Day 1. These are preliminary numbers based on morning, afternoon, and evening shows, with the final total expected later in the night. The film recorded an overall occupancy of 37.75%, with afternoon and evening shows seeing the highest turnout. The early box office collection shows that Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat has successfully drawn audiences eager to witness its intense romance drama.
Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat is produced by Dinesh Jain, Anshul Garg, and Raghav Sharma under Desi Movies Factory. The film also features Shaad Randhawa and veteran actor Sachin Khedekar in pivotal roles. Marketed as an obsessive love story, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat explores themes of passion, heartbreak, and emotional intensity, aiming to resonate with audiences through its dramatic narrative and chart-topping music.
The film’s trailer, released on 8 October, generated significant buzz online. Harshvardhan Rane captioned the trailer post with, “Itihaas ka main pehla Raavan hoon jo khud Sita ko Ghar chhodkar aayega,” hinting at the film’s unique take on love and obsession. Director Milap Zaveri told ANI that the trailer showcases the love, hate, and pain shared between the lead characters, emphasizing the emotional rollercoaster that defines Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat.
Initially scheduled for a 2 October release, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat was postponed to 21 October to avoid clashing with other major releases like Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1 and Varun Dhawan-Janhvi Kapoor’s Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari. Despite stiff competition, the film’s passionate storyline and popular music helped Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat carve its own space at the box office, generating curiosity and anticipation among audiences.
Milap Zaveri described the film as an “intense romantic drama,” adding that Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat combines emotional storytelling with memorable music to create an engaging cinematic experience. “Our goal was to make a film where audiences feel the intensity of the characters’ emotions. The performances of Harshvardhan and Sonam truly bring the story of Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat to life,” he explained.
With a promising start on Day 1, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat is expected to maintain its momentum in the coming days. The film’s combination of passionate romance, emotional drama, and appealing music could make it one of the notable love stories in Indian cinema this year. Audiences and critics alike are now eagerly watching how Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat performs over the first weekend and whether it can sustain the early excitement it has generated.
