Inaugural Emirates Falcon Racing Cup Launches in Kuwait

Inaugural Emirates Falcon Racing Cup Launches in Kuwait

Post by : Badri Ariffin

Under the patronage of the UAE leadership, the first-ever Emirates Falcon Racing Cup will kick off this Thursday in Kuwait, representing a pivotal moment for the burgeoning sport. Scheduled from December 4 to 7, the event will unite prominent falconers from across the region, aiming to elevate falcon racing to an international platform.

This tournament forms part of the UAE Falcons Federation's strategic mission to develop falconry into a well-structured global sport. As a founding member of the International Federation for Falconry Sports and Racing, the UAE seeks to transition falconry from traditional customs to a recognized competitive discipline worldwide.

In preparation for the event, the organizing teams have successfully completed all essential technical and logistical planning. Championship regulations have been disseminated on official channels, a digital registration app for participants is live, and the opening ceremony along with accompanying events has been finalized.

The UAE Federation noted that this inaugural edition in Kuwait lays the groundwork for future international championships among member nations, adhering to established norms. The involvement of local Kuwaiti falconers is also encouraged, allowing them to compete in a world-class setting and play a role in the sport's growing influence.

The Emirates Falcon Racing Cup will comprise seven races in the Farkh category, featuring four main rounds, one Hur round, and one Shaheen round for farm-bred falcons. The championship will conclude with the Cup Race, pitting the top five falcons from each main round against each other for the title. Categories include Pure Jeer, Jeer–Shaheen, Qarmousha, and Jeer–Taba'. A substantial prize fund of AED 500,000 has been earmarked for the winners.

With all preparations in place and strong collaboration from Kuwait’s teams and committees, the championship is primed for a remarkable debut. This event strives to reinforce the UAE's commitment to elevating falcon racing on a global scale while preserving the sport's rich heritage for future generations.
