Emirates SkyCargo has taken a significant step in digitizing its services by partnering with Pelicargo, an innovative online air freight booking platform. This collaboration marks the first time a Middle East-based cargo airline has achieved API connectivity with Pelicargo, enabling instant online bookings for customers.

The goal of this partnership is to enhance digital accessibility for freight forwarders and cargo clients, particularly in the United States, where the demand for online booking options has surged over the past year.

As noted by Emirates SkyCargo, an increasing number of US clients are transitioning from traditional manual booking methods to digital platforms, including eSkyCargo and various third-party options. With its integration into Pelicargo, Emirates SkyCargo is now poised to reach a broader audience in this market.

Badr Abbas, Divisional Senior Vice President at Emirates SkyCargo, highlighted that the airline's digital tools have already streamlined operations, facilitating faster exchanges of information and smoother booking experiences. He emphasized that this Pelicargo integration is a crucial advancement in enhancing connections with both new and existing US clientele.

He further remarked that digital transformation will remain pivotal to the company’s growth strategy, enabling Emirates SkyCargo to deliver more adaptable and efficient cargo solutions globally.

Jon Acquaviva, Co-Founder and President of Pelicargo, expressed that the partnership embodies a shared commitment from both organizations to elevate customer experience through efficient digital connections. He added that the alliance will facilitate quicker and more effective access to Emirates SkyCargo’s expansive network for freight customers.

Emirates SkyCargo has made available five key cargo products on the Pelicargo platform: Fresh and Fresh Breathe for perishables, Pharma for temperature-sensitive medical shipments, Airfreight Priority for urgent deliveries, and AirFreight for general transport.

Pelicargo is now the fourth digital marketplace providing Emirates SkyCargo booking services, joining cargo.one, CargoAi, and WebCargo. This allows clients to access flight schedules, tariff and contract information, real-time cargo space, and round-the-clock instant booking capabilities.
