H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, engaged with a high-profile delegation of influential African business and philanthropic leaders to discover avenues for partnership. The dialogue aimed at strengthening cultural, creative, and social initiatives, paving the way for enduring economic ties between the UAE and Africa. Ideas were exchanged on fostering innovative initiatives that have a significant impact across regions.
Sheikha Latifa welcomed the visiting delegation led by Badr Jafar, the Special Envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Business and Philanthropy. She underscored the necessity of forging authentic global alliances with individuals driving cultural and economic advancement. Additionally, she emphasized Dubai’s rising prominence as an international hub for creativity and innovation, where cross-regional collaboration and knowledge sharing are thriving. Dubai stands firm in its resolve to nurture talent and promote cultural growth alongside like-minded regions.
In attendance were senior officials including Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers; Jamal bin Huwaireb, CEO of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation; and Mansoor Hussain Lootah, CEO of the Corporate Enablement Sector and Chief AI Officer at Dubai Culture. Their participation highlights Dubai’s unwavering commitment to bolstering cultural partnerships and collaborative goals. The meeting also reinforced Dubai’s role as a global cultural and creative nexus where diverse perspectives coalesce to shape the future.
During the talks, Sheikha Latifa expressed her admiration for the remarkable achievements of the African delegation across diverse sectors. She highlighted the historical bonds and common values shared by the UAE and African nations, which bolster mutual understanding and long-term relationships. Notable attendees included prominent figures such as Abdul Samad Rabiu, Aliko Dangote, Dr. Elizabeth Jack-Rich Tein, Humphrey Kariuki, Johann Rupert, Mohammad Dewji, Sir Mo Ibrahim, Naguib Sawiris, Dr. Patrice Motsepe, Dr. Precious Moloi-Motsepe, Strive Masiyiwa, Tsitsi Masiyiwa, and Tony Elumelu.
Their involvement demonstrated Africa’s robust commitment to cultural development, social advancement, and economic empowerment. The meeting underscored the potential for Dubai and African partners to collaborate in creating new possibilities, achieving common objectives, and enhancing global cooperation in culture, creativity, and philanthropy.
