The Family Care Authority (FCA) in Abu Dhabi has officially opened a new Service Centre along with Halfway Homes in the Al Dhafra region, aimed at enhancing family, social, and rehabilitation services across the emirate.
This initiative seeks to improve access to social and psychological care services for all community members while bolstering family stability and enhancing community wellbeing in the Al Dhafra area.
The inauguration aligns with the National Family Growth Agenda 2031 and is part of the UAE Year of Family 2026, as proclaimed by UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The ceremony saw the presence of numerous senior officials, including His Excellency Shamis Ali Al Dhaheri, Chairman of the Department of Community Development; His Excellency Nasser Mohammed Al Mansouri, Undersecretary of the Ruler’s Representative Court in Al Dhafra; and Her Excellency Salama Ajlan Al Ameemi, Director General of the Family Care Authority.
Also in attendance were representatives from Abu Dhabi Police, Al Dhafra Region Municipality, the Authority of Social Contribution – Ma’an, Al Dhafra Hospital, Mubadala, and ADNOC Group.
Her Excellency Salama Ajlan Al Ameemi stated that these new facilities signify the authority’s dedication to offering support services to families throughout Abu Dhabi, including remote regions like Al Dhafra.
She emphasized that this expansion is designed to strengthen family bonds and guarantee that every family member gets adequate support and opportunities for a brighter future.
The new Service Centre will deliver integrated family and social services under the auspices of the Department of Community Development – Abu Dhabi. These services comprise counselling and guidance, care and support, foster and alternative care support, empowerment initiatives, awareness programmes, and supervised visitation services.
The Halfway Homes initiative is an essential part of FCA’s Integrated Care Model focusing on rehabilitation and reintegration. This facility will provide a secure environment for individuals recovering from addiction, aiding their transition from treatment to independent living and rejoining society.
With these new initiatives, the Family Care Authority aims to boost social stability, fortify family resilience, and elevate the quality of life for residents in the Al Dhafra region.
