Explosives Prepared at Flour Mill Linked to Delhi Blast

Explosives Prepared at Flour Mill Linked to Delhi Blast

Post by : Rameen Ariff

In a significant turn of events related to the Red Fort blast in Delhi, a flour mill, along with a grinder and various electronic devices, was seized from the residence of a taxi driver in Faridabad, Haryana. These items were allegedly utilized to concoct explosive chemicals.

Muzammil Shakeel Ganaie, hailing from Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir, is believed to be a principal figure in the tragic bombing incident near Delhi’s Red Fort on November 10. Investigators disclosed that Ganaie employed the flour mill at his rented premises in Faridabad to grind urea and derive ammonium nitrate, which was later transformed into explosive components. Authorities successfully recovered 360 kilograms of ammonium nitrate along with other chemical substances from the site.

Ganaie, a medical professional at Al-Falah University in Faridabad, reportedly introduced the flour mill and grinder as wedding gifts for his sister and later relocated the apparatus to his rented accommodations.

The taxi driver is currently being interrogated by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). Reports indicate that he has been acquainted with Ganaie for around four years, following his visits to Al-Falah Medical College and Hospital for his son’s treatment.

Two of Ganaie’s associates from Al-Falah University—Shaheen Saeed from Lucknow and Adeel Ahmed Rather from Anantnag—have also been apprehended concerning the blast. The attack, executed by suicide bomber Umar un Nabi, resulted in 15 fatalities and numerous injuries. Nabi, a Kashmiri doctor, was also linked to Al-Falah University.

The investigation has unveiled that the blast is integrated within a broader terrorist network tied to Pakistan-based factions such as Jaish-e-Mohammed and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind, which is linked with al-Qaeda. Authorities have seized over 2,900 kilograms of explosives, including ammonium nitrate, in related operations.

Officials are tirelessly working to uncover the entire framework behind the Red Fort explosion, focusing on thwarting potential future attacks and ensuring all accountable parties face legal consequences.
